
It’s that time of year again! Please join us for our Annual Bingo for Orchids & Ice Cream Social! What better way to spend a summer ‘s evening! Socialize and meet new “orchid friends” while eating delicious ice cream and playing several lively games of Bingo with some fantastic orchids as prizes.
Do to this special event, there will not be a guest speaker, skill session or speaker’s dinner this month.
Here’s How It Works:
The society will provide ice cream and hot fudge sauce. We encourage all attendees to bring an ice cream topping for everyone to share.
Bingo cards can be purchased with cash / check or by donating plants.
All donated plants must be named, in good condition and disease & pest free.
$5 = 1 Bingo Card
One Named, Blooming Orchid = 2 Bingo Cards
One Named, Non-Blooming Orchid = 1 Bingo Card
Friends and family are welcome so grab the kids, grandkids and neighbors then come on down! Loads of fun PLUS a great opportunity to add some unique plants to your orchid collection.

This is a work at your own pace workshop for all ages and skill levels to enjoy. Come and experience a fun way to learn about orchids, their natural epiphytic growing habits, and how to care for them from experienced growers.
Don’t miss this special opportunity to learn from two skilled orchidists, Marni Turkel and Tom Pickford, who will walk you through the basics of mounting and share the tried and true tips and techniques they have acquired over the years. Both Tom and Marni will present different mounting styles – you choose the mounting style that interests you the most.
Experienced growers will be positioned at each table to guide you and help you create a beautifully mounted orchid that will give you many years of pleasure and enjoyment. All the necessary supplies and tools will be provided so you can create your own living masterpiece (or two).
We have flown in a wonderful selection of species and hybrids from H&R Nurseries of Hawaii.
Plants will be available for purchase at $10.00 which includes one plant & cork mount.

Parking – Since the Sonoma County Fair will be in full swing across the street, please let the parking attendant know you are attending the SCOS meeting so you can park FREE OF CHARGE.

Larry Mead will be giving the June Skill Session on “How to Test & Understand your Water Quality”. Bring samples of your well or tap water for testing and learn how you can enhance your water quality to benefit your prized orchids. Skill Session begins at 6:45PM.
