Upcoming Meetings & Events:
Carol Klonowski – 22nd World Orchid Conference
Carol Klonowski has been growing orchids since the 1980’s when a friend in Berkeley, California, gave her a cattleya, and it bloomed out with three big, dark lavender flowers and an intoxicating fragrance. She built an entire greenhouse in her backyard to accommodate the precious plant, which only led her to buy more orchids. Then another friend gave her a gift membership to the Orchid Society of California, and it’s been a serious hobby and passion ever since.
Her talk on the 22nd World Orchid Conference in Guayaquil, Ecuador, will feature the highlights of this most prestigious orchid event, and include sidelights on how members of our own orchid community contributed to some of the most interesting plants and exhibits. Most importantly, orchid growers in the Bay Area will discover how many of the award winning plants can be easily grown right here in their own orchid collections.
April Skill Session: Carol Klonowski will also be giving the Skill Session. The topic will be “General Culture Tips for Growing Orchids”. If you are a new member, this is the Skill Session for YOU!
April Speakers Dinner: Join us for dinner with Carol at SEA Thai Bistro, 2350 Midway Drive, Santa Rosa on Tuesday, April 10th at 5:00pm. Please RSVP by 5:00pm, Monday, April 9th.
